Chandler French, LCAT, ATR-BC

I collaborate with individuals and families to develop goals and work towards them in a safe, intentional space. My goal is to empower clients to build a compassionate relationship with themselves and others. Initially trained as an art therapist, my approach is trauma-informed and client-centered. My area of expertise is working with children and adults who are neurocomplex—specifically those with ADHD, autism, and/or OCD. Neurodivergence often overlaps with anxiety, depression, and complex trauma, all of which we explore as part of the journey to unmasking and returning to the self.

I am certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol, a tool that can help increase regulation and foster a calmer nervous system. I am trained in Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART) and am currently training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

Chandler graduated with distinction from Pratt Institute’s MPS program for Art Therapy and Creativity Development and has since trained in various modalities, including EMDR resourcing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and somatic therapy. She has practiced across New York City in a variety of settings: home-based services with children in the foster system, a nursing home, an outpatient program, a school, and, most recently, private practice. Her clinical experience has helped her to see therapy as a means of empowerment, and her practice welcomes all bodies and orientations.
