Jin Xie, LMSW
I am an integrative, trauma-informed therapist, and I specialize in working with adolescents and adults.
Growing up in the US as the child of Chinese immigrants, I developed a deep respect for how our identities and cultures influence how we connect with others, ourselves, and the institutions around us. Those experiences helped me understand the importance of feeling a sense of belonging, safety, and connection—both within ourselves and in our relationships. As a therapist, I practice from a culturally responsive framework to build a similar sense of belonging, safety, and connection within each session.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a middle school teacher, which deepened my appreciation of attachment theory, family dynamics, and how early relationships imprint on our emotional lives and inner worlds. As a therapist, I have worked in community mental health clinics, school-based settings, and private practice. I have extensive experience supporting adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, intergenerational trauma, complex trauma, immigration experiences, and identity exploration.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (through the IFS Institute) and also utilize psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and somatic practices. These approaches not only help my clients reframe negative thinking patterns, but also support an embodied sense of healing and connection. I am currently training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).
I prioritize attuning to and collaborating with my clients to ensure they feel seen and heard. It’s an honor to be able to walk beside my clients on their journeys.
